Job Overview
AWS America is seeking a highly experienced Senior JIRA Administrator / JIRA Architect to lead the design, governance, and optimization of enterprise JIRA environments. This role requires deep expertise in JIRA architecture, workflow design, automation, and platform governance, along with the ability to partner with stakeholders and drive scalable solutions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of JIRA solutions aligned with enterprise project management needs
- Define and implement complex workflows, automation strategies, and process improvements
- Establish and manage JIRA governance models, including roles, permissions, and access controls
- Design and implement custom fields, issue types, screens, and advanced configurations
- Develop programmatic field dependencies and dynamic workflows (e.g., dependent dropdowns)
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Ensure platform performance, reliability, and best practices across JIRA environments
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior administrators and teams
- Drive continuous improvement and adoption of Agile and DevOps best practices within JIRA
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a Senior JIRA Administrator / JIRA Architect (Cloud or Data Center)
- Strong expertise in workflow design, automation, and advanced JIRA customization
- Proven experience implementing enterprise-level JIRA governance and scaling strategies
- Hands-on experience with roles, permissions, and security frameworks
- Deep understanding of JIRA project structures and administration best practices
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Atlassian ecosystem tools (Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)
- Familiarity with JIRA APIs, scripting, and integrations
- Experience supporting Agile, Scrum, and enterprise delivery models
- Exposure to large-scale JIRA transformations or migrations
