Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Developer – AS400 to develop, support, and maintain enterprise applications on the IBM i / AS400 platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in RPG development, DB2/400, SQL/400, production support, and modernization initiatives.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of IBM AS400 / iSeries development and maintenance
- Strong hands-on experience with RPG, RPGLE, CL, CLLE, ILE, and Free Format RPG
- Strong experience with DB2/400, SQL/400, DDS, Physical & Logical Files, and Stored Procedures
- Experience in incident management, problem management, and production support
- Experience with job scheduling, batch processing, and AS400 utilities
- Experience performing code reviews, unit testing, defect resolution, and application enhancements
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Experience
- RPG modernization (Fixed Format to Free Format RPG)
- IBM Job Scheduler, ROBOT, and change management tools
- MQ, Connect:Direct, SFTP, and interface integrations
- Agile/Scrum delivery environments
- Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration
